  10. The Public Health Service recommends the following steps:

  12. ‚Ä¢ Do not have sexual contact with AIDS patients, members of groups at risk for AIDS, or people who test positive for the HIV virus.  If you do, follow the guidelines for "safer" sex included in this stack under "Basic AIDS Information".

  14. ‚Ä¢ Do not use intravenous (IV) drugs.  If you do, do not share needles.

  16. ‚Ä¢ Do not have sex with those who use IV drugs.

  18. ‚Ä¢ Women who are sexual partners of high risk groups‚Äîincluding IV drug users‚Äîshould consider the risk to their babies before pregnancy.  They should have an HIV antibody test prior to becoming pregnant.  If they become pregnant, they should have a test during pregnancy and consult with their doctor.

  20. ‚Ä¢ Avoid having sex with multiple partners and those who do have sex with multiple partners, including prostitutes.  The more partners one has the greater the risk of contracting AIDS.

  22. ‚Ä¢ When in doubt about any practice you might feel is a possible avenue to contract the disease, SEEK OUT THE ADVICE OF A COMPETENT AIDS-AWARE PHYSICIAN OR CALL ONE OF THE NUMBERS LISTED IN THE SECTION ON "AIDS INFORMATION IN YOUR AREA" INCLUDED IN THE AIDS STACK!
